Chess Culture

Chess Culture

In this course we are going to study between 10 and 15 games from a list of great players from the past. We will study the players in a roughly chronological order so that the ideas we learn follow mirror the evolution of chess understanding.
Chessbase Adventures

Chessbase Adventures

In this very short course we will look at some useful ways we can use Chessbase. Hopefully, this will be helpful in overcoming the lack of documentation and help that is already out there.
Find A Move

Find A Move

In this course you will be shown positions which represent most of chess. They do not have tactical solutions although you may well have to calculate some tactics to decide on the move. This is real chess and practicing the process through a series of graded examples will help you find better moves at the board. They start off quite easy and get harder at each different series. The first set should be accessible to relatively new players and the last set could be challenging for IMs. I have split them up into belts as in martial arts. So we will have White Belt, Yellow Belt, Blue Belt and Black Belt. If the set is difficult for you, it will still be worth doing to practice your evaluation skills and develop a methodical thinking process.
